Samuel Menashe (1925-2011) was an American poet. His trademark style of short lyric poems unique and resistant to prevailing modes, he commanded a select, serious, and loyal audience during his lifetime. His books include The Many Named Beloved, No Jerusalem But This, Fringe of Fire, To Open, Collected Poems, The Niche Narrows, and, in conjunction with the inaugural Neglected Masters Award by Poetry Foundation, Samuel Menashe: New and Selected Poems (edited by Christopher Ricks).
